Tips for What to Expect During a Child’s Physical Exam

Here are a few things to help you and your child be ready for child’s physical exam appointment:

  • Be sure to bring with you any forms from sports teams, camps, or school for the medical staff to fill out
  • Bring a list of current prescriptions, supplements, and allergies
  • Be ready to answer questions about the child’s diet, sleep habits, and activity level
  • Let your child know ahead of time what to expect. During an exam a doctor might:
    • Measure their current height and weight
    • Take their vital signs such as body temperature, heart rate and blood pressure
