Deciding to talk with someone about your mental health is often the hardest part. Once someone is ready, a long search for an available therapist can add another barrier and make it easier to put getting help off.

For BHT members who aren’t in crisis, but could use some guidance, Nice may be one of the quickest ways to start that conversation. Mental health appointments are typically available in days rather than weeks, giving eligible members a practical place to begin without spending time calling multiple providers and waiting for an opening.

Nice offers short-term mental health therapy for adults, with up to eight sessions depending on the member’s needs. Support can include stress management, life transitions, emotional regulation, boundaries, communication, conflict resolution and other common challenges. Nice also identifies anxiety, depression, and grief and loss among the types of short-term mental health needs it can support.

Nice Healthcare is an included benefit with most medical plans through Business Health Trust. Eligible members can start by choosing Mental Health Therapy in the Nice app or online. If Nice isn’t the right fit for the person’s needs, the intake process or assessment may point them toward other resources.

Nice isn’t meant for crisis care or serious or chronic mental health needs. Its materials specifically exclude needs such as suicidal or homicidal thoughts, self-injury, substance use, trauma, psychosis and several other conditions that may require different or longer-term care. Anyone experiencing a suicide-related or mental health crisis can call or text 988 for immediate support.
